About the project
The Boom Bap Bible takes all 1,189 chapters of the King James Version and delivers them as 90s boom bap hip hop — verbatim, unedited, uncompromised. A solo project by Servant Zero.
Who is Servant Zero?
I'm Servant Zero — an independent hip hop artist making music rooted in Scripture. Instead of sermons-over-beats or abstract "inspired by" verses, I treat the King James text itself as the lyric and deliver it verbatim over 90s-era boom bap production. The Boom Bap Bible is the flagship project, and it's the work of a lifetime: every chapter of all 66 books.

What you'll hear
90 BPM drums. Hard MPC hits. Soulful sample chops. Deep bass. A chest-resonant delivery with clear enunciation. Every verse, every word, exactly as it was written. Each chapter is hand-tuned — the mood of Genesis 1 isn't the mood of Lamentations 1.
How it's released
Chapters drop book by book. Every chapter on this site exists — released chapters play, and chapters still in production show a Coming soon placeholder so you can still read the KJV text and navigate to the next one.
Why KJV
Public domain. Poetic. Cadenced. Built to be spoken aloud. Every rendition on Boom Bap Bible is 100% verbatim — no paraphrases, no swaps, no "modernizations." Just the Word on a beat.
Free. Forever. Never paywalled.
The Bible was never meant to be sold, and I mean that. The Boom Bap Bible streams 100% free — no subscription, no "premium" tier, no charging anyone to hear God's Word. Paywalling Scripture isn't in my heart and never will be. Contributions are what make "free forever" actually sustainable — they don't unlock anything, because nothing is locked in the first place.
Inside a chapter, the listening experience stays sacred — no pre-roll, mid-roll, or post-roll ad will ever interrupt Scripture. That's non-negotiable.
A note on ads
I'm not anti-advertising in principle. Over time you may see non-intrusive, Christ-centered promotions around the site — faith-aligned brands, ministries, books, music I personally believe in. What you will not see is generic "slap-it-anywhere" Google ads that show whatever garbage the ad network decides to show. Anything I promote will line up with the heart of this project.
I may also occasionally drop in my own promos — a quick interstitial suggesting you follow me on YouTube, or a link to a new release. Those are kept minimal, and when Settings lands you'll be able to toggle them off (e.g. mark "already subscribed on YouTube" and the follow prompt disappears).
One honest caveat: YouTube runs its own ads between songs on my channel, and I don't control them. For the cleanest, fully ad-free listening experience, use this site or (soon) the iOS / Android apps.
What's on the roadmap
The web player is the first chapter of this project, not the last. Native iOS and Android apps are in development so Boom Bap Bible travels with you — offline playback, background audio, lock-screen controls, CarPlay and Android Auto. Same free model.
Further out, a passion-project goal of mine is a /boombapbiblebot for Discord. Install it on a server and use slash commands (like /bible genesis 1) to play chapters right in voice channels. Long-term vision, but it's the kind of idea that keeps me excited.
Contributions help all of this ship sooner.
Where to start
Head to the catalog and pick a book. Genesis is the natural start — but Psalms, John, Proverbs, or Revelation are all solid entry points.
Help fund the project
Every chapter comes out of my pocket, on top of a full-time day job. Contributions aren't what make this project happen — they're what let it happen faster. Your support also helps launch the Sunday Scars Podcast. One-time or monthly via Stripe, cancel anytime.
Not tax-deductible. Independent artist project, not a registered non-profit.
